Yates: Voice is about real talent

Reggie Yates reckons The Voice will bring something different to British TV

Reggie Yates reckons new show The Voice will be more credible than The X Factor.

The new talent show, which the presenter and DJ will host alongside Holly Willoughby, is expected to air on BBC One in the spring.

Reggie told The Sun: "It's about time there was a cool, credible show like this. I love The X Factor - I follow it every week. But this is a different beast.

"The Voice is more to do with finding musical talent rather than pop stars. We want credible people and they'll be getting constructive criticism, not catchphrases."

The all-star judging panel of the show - which originated in the US - will comprise of Sir Tom Jones, The Script's frontman Danny O'Donoghue, Jessie J and Black Eyed Peas star

Reggie said: "When I was in the States I saw the show and I was gripped. There's nothing like this on British TV so I'm really chuffed to be doing it."

Read the fine print on a contract. If you're not happy with the proposed terms of a deal, renegotiate. Don't be afraid to drive a hard bargain. You may not realise it, but you have a great deal of power. People are willing to pay good money for someone with your intelligence and experience. If you undersell yourself, you will set a dangerous precedent. Someone will ask you to do something that goes against your conscience. Obey your principles, even if it means making an enemy.More
