Zac’s ‘great’ treatment choice

Zac Efron's partying went from bad to worse before he sought help.

Friends close to the actor have come forward to praise his decision to seek treatment for an alleged addiction to cocaine. It’s been claimed he checked in for help twice and is now clean.

"The fact that he's seeking help only says great things about him," said his Parkland co-star Marcia Gay Harden.

One friend claims the star’s hectic lifestyle quickly escalated before he sought treatment in a rehabilitation centre.

"He was partying a lot. It went from bad to worse," Zac's pal told People magazine.

"The partying got out of hand. He cares so much about his career," another source confided to the publication.

Reports claim that as well as cocaine the High School Musical star also used Molly, a form of ecstasy.

It has also been alleged that the 25-year-old collapsed in a New York hotel suite at the beginning of this year, scaring other party goers.

Last November, he is said to have left guests at a bash terrified with his wild antics.

“He stood maybe one foot away from my face and kept saying, ‘I've been up for four days. I haven't slept,’” an insider told People. “He was running around with his shirt off. He kept talking, going a mile a minute. He said something like he'd been on a party train.”

In 2010, Zac apparently took a trip to Las Vegas with some friends not long after the end of his five-year relationship with his High School Musical co-star Vanessa Hudgens.

“They were snorting coke and pulled an all-nighter at the strip club, they went straight from the strip club to a pool party at like, noon,” a source claimed.

It is alleged the heartthrob would sometimes continue partying until 5pm the following day, even when his friends had gone to bed.
