Zayn Malik reportedly treated his girlfriend Perrie Edwards to a ring to mark their first anniversary.

The star recently celebrated his first anniversary with Perrie Edwards, who also appeared on the British version of The X Factor and is in girl band Little Mix.

They haven't had an easy 12 months, with Zayn accused of being unfaithful at the beginning of the year. The stars have put the speculation behind them and celebrated their love with a mini break in France.

"Perrie was in Paris working, so Zayn flew over there and they spent a romantic couple of days together. He then surprised her with a diamond Tiffany ring. He really wanted to prove how much he loved her," an insider told Heat magazine.

The couple have been clear with friends about what the jewellery means. While some thought it was an indicator that they were planning to tie the knot, they have insisted it simply means they are committed and isn't an engagement ring.

Zayn and Perrie made the most of their time together in the so-called City of Love and were pictured taking a stroll near the Eiffel Tower. They were seen kissing in front of the iconic monument, before walking away with their arms around each other.

After the infidelity rumours, Perrie publicly insisted she trusts her boyfriend. She claimed she has got used to hearing speculation about her romance, with many of the stories about the relationship untrue.

She also spoke of how comfortable she feels with Zayn. "Things are all good. Zayn is my best friend and I’ve seen more of him since we finished our tour and but it’s hard as One Direction have been on tour as well," she explained in March.
