Zoe Saldana respects Kurt Russell for 'raising another man's children'
Zoe Saldana has a great deal of empathy, love and respect for a man who raises another man's children.
Zoe Saldana has a huge amount of respect for Kurt Russell, not only as an actor but also as a parent to Goldie Hawn's children.
The 66-year-old actor stars alongside Zoe in new movie Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, and the actress spoke about her admiration for the screen veteran at a showing of the film in New York on Wednesday night (03May17).
Kurt has been with partner Goldie since 1983, and the actress' children from her former marriage to Bill Hudson - daughter Kate and son Oliver - consider Kurt to be their father.
It's this relationship that makes Kurt such a special individual, Zoe told Entertainment Tonight.
"Not only was it an honour to (work) with (him), but to know that Kurt Russell is an exceptional man besides being an artist was a treat and a check off my bucket list," she said.
"I have a great deal of empathy, and love, and respect for a man that raises another man's children. And this man has excelled at it for decades and his children praise him for it every single day."
Kurt and Goldie are set to be honoured at a double Hollywood Walk of Fame star ceremony later this week, and Zoe admitted she is looking forward to the occasion.
"Every time I see them on TV or on the red carpet, they're my favourites," she smiled.
Kurt has also been doing the promotional rounds for the new Marvel offering, and appeared on U.S. chat show Conan on Wednesday night, where he revealed that he was so hungover when he reconnected with Goldie in 1983, after initially meeting her years before, that he used a horrendous chat up line in an attempt to woo her.
"I didn't know Goldie at all outside of having worked with her many years before," Kurt explained. "I just didn't know in my mind what I was going to see. (Goldie) had a great body, and so the first that came out was, 'Man, you got a great figure.' And it kind of came out quickly and it could've been wrong and she said, 'Why thank you.'"
