Review: The Gloaming brings down the curtain in great style
With ghosts and ghouls - or at least people dressed as them - still roaming the streets after Halloween, it was a heady night for The Gloaming to bring this year's Belfast Festival to a close.
The Irish-American folk outfit's show at the Elmwood Hall on Saturday conjured an appropriately otherworldly atmosphere, chilling the spines of faithful fans and newcomers alike.
Traditional, but not musty or dusty, the band could one minute be steeped in melancholy, the next be causing audience members to beam with joy.
With all the line-up being hugely respected names on the folk circuit, The Gloaming can lay claim to being a supergroup of sorts, and certainly, this was a super concert.
