Young Star Seach - how you can get involved

The first round of auditions will take place this Saturday and Sunday (April 24-25) from 9am-6pm at Movie House Cinema at Cityside. Singers aged eight to 25 must book a place.



Fill out an entry form at www.citybeat.com or telephone 02890 234967. The next stage will be take contestants to their area heats which will take place across Northern Ireland during the summer leading up to the semi-finals and the grand final which will take place in CastleCourt, Belfast, in August.

This year sees the start of a new young adult category for those aged 17-25. This will be in addition to the junior category aged eight to 12 and the intermediate category for those aged 13-16.

Prizes include: a massive shopping spree, the opportunity to record a CD single with airplay and the chance to jet off to a top European destination.

Young Star Seach is the current winner of the New York Festival Gold Award for best global radio station promotion and is the biggest talent search for young people in Northern Ireland. It has been broadcast on Belfast Citybeat in 2007.
