It has been a busy few weeks for Belfast actress Alana Kerr.
The 26-year-old has taken on the role of former Miss World Marjorie Wallace, who had a tempestuous relationship with late Manchester United and Northern Ireland superstar George Best, in the musical Dancing Shoes, which opens in the Grand Opera House tonight.
Alana, who has been living in London for the past four years, is looking forward to the premiere.
She told the Telegraph: “Over 60 girls auditioned for this part and I was estatic to hear that I was chosen. I have performed in numerous musicals but this is the most challenging to date. Hopefully the musical will go on a UK tour.”
Alana took time out of her schedule to launch the first ever Newry Foody Festival at Newry Market earlier this week. Today is its final day.
