Children’s theatre company Cahoots NI 'have a plan for Christmas' with new show

Cahoots NI have announced they will be performing an adaptation of 'Shh! We Have a Plan' for their Christmas show.

The award-winning children's theatre company will host their production at the Crescent Arts Centre in Belfast before embarking on a tour across the USA and China in 2018.

Shh! We Have a Plan is created and directed by Paul Bosco Mc Eneaney with music by Garth McConaghie, and is based on the hugely popular book by Chris Haughton.

This children's tale follows the journey of three madcap characters who set out to capture a beautiful bird - but the quest becomes an obsession and the obsession becomes the absurd.

Speaking about his stage adaption, director Paul Bosco Mc Eneaney said: “We are thrilled to be bringing this adventure to The Crescent Arts Centre this Christmas.

"We have created something very special for our young audiences and their families to experience; the piece is non-verbal with beautiful lighting, soundscapes, magic and special effects.

"We are delighted that Shh! We Have a Plan is home in Belfast for Christmas before it embarks on its travels across the globe.”

Gilly Campbell, Arts Development Officer for Drama and Dance at the Arts Council of Northern Ireland, aded: “The award-winning Cahoots NI continues to bring world-class children’s theatre to young people in Northern Ireland with Shh! We Have a Plan.

"Chris Haughton is recognised as one of the most exciting voices in children’s literature and Cahoots NI does a wonderful job in bringing this story to life on stage.

"This is a production that will enchant and delight everyone who experiences it and I would encourage anyone who gets the chance, to go along and see this incredible show.”

Shh! We have a Plan runs in the Crescent Arts Centre, Belfast, from December 13-24, 2017.
