Enchanting ballet is a real cracker

The perfect classical ballet for all the family will be staged in Londonderry at the end of the month.

The magical and enchanting fairytale of The Nutcracker will be brought to life by European Ballet, one of the most popular and highly praised touring ballet companies.

On October 28 the audience at the Waterside Theatre will be left spellbound by performances and beautiful handmade costumes.

The Nutcracker story is of the magic of Christmas and how it comes alive as Clara dreams that her toys come to life. The two-act ballet is packed full of exciting moments, such as the spells of Drosselmeyer and the fearsome battle between the Mouse King’s army and toy soldiers.

The transformation of The Nutcracker into a handsome Prince, combined with stunning national dances from Arabia, China, Russia and Spain, will ensure the audience goes home happy following a feast for the eyes and ears.

Set to Tchaikovsky’s glorious score, the ballet is directed by Stanislav Tchassov, former principal dancer of The Bolshoi Ballet and features award winning dancers from France, Italy, Russia, Spain, the UK and elsewhere.

For tickets to this Christmas favourite contact the Waterside box office on 028 7131 4000.
