The Jim Jones Revue snaked into Belfast on Friday night, promising to deliver some old-school rock 'n' roll to the festival.
But even hardcore fans seemed to find the workmanlike display heavy going at their Out to Lunch debut. Some songs had rock ‘n' roll's swagger, but none of its swing.
With nothing in the way of a chorus to justify the posturing, this was very much a case of the Emperor's new riffs.
