Baby Grand, Grand Opera House, Belfast

Friday and Saturday, January 20-21, 7.30pm

Playwright Fionnuala Kennedy takes up the directorial reins for Kabosh's production of her debut drama - a funny and thought-provoking story about a young woman whose future is suddenly transformed when she falls pregnant.

Maria had thought she was going places. She was getting an education, a degree, and then out. But when she gets pregnant, all bets are off.

Placed in sheltered accommodation she discovers a world beyond hooped earrings and pyjamas: one which includes friendship, night-feeds and WKD. Marie's strange new world is one that's rarely depicted on stage, but is a familiar one to many young girls around the country.

This is a short, bittersweet exploration of the lives of the less-favoured in our society, and stars Caroline Curran (above left) and Julie Maxwell.

The play is also supported by the Simon Community and NIHACT (NI Housing Associations' Charitable Trust), alongside Belfast City Council.
