10 THINGS TO DO IN NORTHERN IRELAND (November 8 - 14)

The Northern Ireland Tourist Board (NITB) has put together a list of exciting things to do in Northern Ireland (November 8 - 14).

  • Country Armagh Wildlife Society, Armagh County Museum, Co. Armagh, November 10. Biodiversity highlights in the National Trust from Fermanagh to Slieve Donard.
  • Doris Day in Movies and Song, Down Arts Centre, Co. Down, November 12. Singer Brigid O’Neill will present an evening of Doris Day’s best-loved songs.
  • No Hiding Place, Somme Centre, Newtownards, Co. Down, November 12. Captain Reginald Cooper-Taunton has survived the sinking of the Titanic and the Battle of the Somme but even he cannot avoid of the hand of fate.
  • Crafts in the City 2010, Guildhall, Co. Londonderry, November 12 – 14. The premier showcase of crafts featuring a host of distinguished craft designers and makers.
  • The Annual Christmas Charity Fair, Carrickfergus Town Hall, Co. Antrim, November 13. Featuring over 30 stalls including Christmas cards, bags, candles, perfume, arts and crafts and jewellery.
  • Model Railway Day, Ulster Folk and Transport Museum, Cultra, Co. Down, November 13. Enjoy railway layouts galore in a variety of scales and gauges in a unique setting.
  • Flow – exhibition of art works, Waterways Ireland, Enniskillen, Co. Fermanagh, until November 16. A touring exhibition of art works focussing on the theme of water.
  • Inspirations, Strule Arts Centre, Co. Tyrone, November 5 – 23. An exhibition of work by local artist Geraldine O’Reilly whose main inspiration comes from the local landscapes.
  • Excavation at Tirnony 2010, Maghera, Co. Londonderry, throughout November. Everyone is welcome to visit the site each Friday when archaeologists will be excavating a Portal Tomb.
  • Transatlantic Links, Linen Hall Library, Belfast, until December 24. Exhibition charting the emigration of people from Northern Ireland to the US in the 18th century with books, maps, diaries and letters.
