Agreement to elect and admit Dame Mary Peters as a Freeman of the City of Belfast was made at a special meeting of Belfast City Council on 1 November 2012.

Undoubtedly one of the most beautiful natural phenomena, Auroras, also known as northern and southern lights, are natural light displays in the sky, usually observed at night, particularly in the Polar regions. The phenomenon occurs when the sun gives off high-energy charged particles that travel out into space. A stream of this ion plasma (known as a solar wind) interacts with the edge of the earth's magnetic field and, as these particles collide, the gases within them begin to glow.

Competitors came from all over Northern Ireland as well as the Republic of Ireland, England, Scotland and Germany and the US to compete in the wacky race at Foymore Lodge, Portadown. Professional athletes, casual joggers and people who are just a bit bonkers made their way across four and half miles of bogs and ponds, under cargo nets, across monkey bars and over inflatable obstacles all in aid of charity partner Marie Curie Cancer Care. Steam Locomotives (Trains). The steam- hauled passenger train that chugged away from No.1 platform in Bangor last night marked the end of an era. It was the last train to travel along the Belfast Central line, linking the Belfast-Bangor track and the one to Portadown. The train was given a civic send-off from Bangor by Alderman Charles Milligan (THIRD FROM RIGHT) who waved the guard's flag. Driver of the train was Mr Eamonn O'Hara, of Finaghy Road North, Belfast.
