Northern Ireland teenagers claim they have no time to exercise: Ethan Kivlahan, 14 from Aquinus Grammar School (centre) takes it easy, while his school chum Sean Lacey, also 14, and Steph Fawcett, 17, from Methodist College, ditch the devices and get active. Recent research by Action Cancer has revealed that young people in Northern Ireland spend three hours a day watching TV, playing games and on devices, but claim they have no time to exercise. The survey was carried out among 450 young people on behalf of its Health Action Programme.

'Small size, big festival' at Narrow Water Castle. Organised by Newry-based company Sticky Fingers, the four-day festival was the finale of an exploratory programme which spanned more than five years and involved 12 different countries dedicated to performing arts.

Van Morrison said he was "honoured and delighted" to have been granted the freedom of his native Belfast as it was announced he will play a free concert in the city to mark the accolade. The 68-year-old musician will perform for fans in November 2013 after being awarded the civic title at Belfast's Ulster Hall.
