Jan de Vries: I need some help on a natural level
Monday, 18 June 2007
Last December I was diagnosed with Polymyalgia Rheumatica and given a course of Prednisolone. Although they do work, I get dreadful side effects from them. I would like to help myself on a more natural level and wondered if I could use anything in addition to the steroids?
You could try the fatty acid complex Celadrin, which has no known adverse
reactions with other medication. A dose of three capsules daily would be
appropriate.
You could also take Flaxseed Oil for further support.
As for your diet, I would suggest avoiding acid-forming foods such as anything
from the pig, citrus fruit, tomatoes, vinegar and rhubarb.
For the
last 4 weeks I have had thrush that I am finding very difficult to get rid
of. I have tried various things from the chemist, but they have had no
effect. Could my diet be to blame?
Certainly it would help to avoid
fungal promoting foods in your diet such as yeast, dairy, cheese, mushrooms
and wine.
You could also try taking one Acidophilus Pearl first
thing in the morning together with the anti-fungal remedy Spilanthes.
Externally you could apply some Cervagyn, which is an acidophilus-based
cream, which will help improve the environment in the vaginal area.
