Jan de Vries: Health Problems?

Jan answers readers' questions

Monday, 5 November 2007

My great grandson is hyperactive and despite being on medication seems to be getting worse. He has three other siblings, attends a mainstream school, but he hits out at other children and has to be kept indoors at times. His mother is at the end of her tether. Could you please recommend something?

He could try the flower remedy Concentration Essence together with L-Theanine, which is an amino acid based on Green Tea. It delivers into the system within 30 minutes of taking it and it very helpful for calming down the central nervous system.

He could also try a low-salicylate diet also known as the Feingold diet. It is suggested that children who suffered from hyperactivity and ADHD are sensitive to salicylate, which is found in certain foods

I am a 67-year-old woman and for a few years I have suffered from a burning sensation in my feet. This is now affecting my legs as well, one minute they are cold and the next they are red hot. Have you any advice?

This problem is most likely related to your circulation but could also be a neurological one as well. I feel that you would benefit from taking a remedy called Grape Seed Phytosome which is a strong antioxidant and very helpful for fragile veins and capillaries as well as lymphatic conditions such as Lymphodema. It is 50 times stronger than vitamin E but can be taken safely alongside drugs such as Warfarin. To be on the safe side you may also wish to take a good vitamin B12 such as Bioactive B12.
