Riverside flats proving popular

Thursday, April 24, 2008

Luxury apartments in south Belfast have been snapped up in record time - prompting claims that the Northern Ireland housing market is picking up.

Thirty-eight of the riverside homes at the Embankment development at Annadale were sold in just 14 days, according to joint selling agents BTWCairns and Ulster Property Sales.

The one- and two-bedroom flats, priced from £124,950 to £195,000, attracted a mix of buyers when the first phase was launched in early April.

Despite the highly desirable south Belfast location near Stranmillis, Thomas O'Doherty, director at BTWCairns, said the speedy sales are significant: " There is a return of confidence in the market and buyers are prepared to commit if the price is right."

In total there are 216 one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments.
