Hair salon aims to be cut above

A BELFAST hair salon has scored a hat-trick after scooping a triple nomination at the British Hairdressing Awards. Paul Stafford Hairdressing on the Stranmillis Road is "streaks ahead" of other salons with three of its stylists vying for titles in the prestigious awards.

Partners Paul Stafford and Leisa Meli are among six Ulster stylists contesting the Northern Ireland Hairdresser of the Year category. And educational director Suzan Manning has been selected as a finalist for Schwarzkopf Professional Colour Technician of the Year.

A new category to the British Hairdressing Awards, colour technician finalists are selected from entries from across the UK. Suzan is one of only a handful of finalists to be selected.

Among the other hot contenders in the Northern Ireland Hairdressing category are Caroline Boyce, Toni and Guy, Lewis Gibson, Hair Traffic, Deborah Robson, Hair Traffic and Shane Bennett, Natural Hair Company.

The winner of the title will be announced at a star-studded event at the Grosvenor House Hotel, Park Avenue, London on November 27.
