IoD supremo flies in for meeting

ONE of the UK's most powerful business voices is visiting Northern Ireland today.

ONE of the UK's most powerful business voices is visiting Northern Ireland today.

George Cox, director general of the Institute of Directors, is in the province to address IoD members at a special meeting in the Culloden Hotel, Cultra.

A former chairman of computer firm Unisys, Mr Cox is expected to outline the institute's reading of the threats and opportunities in the UK economy.

His visit also coincides with the announcement of the winner of the IoD Lunn's Award of Excellence 2000.

The awards scheme recognises and rewards IoD members who have made a real difference to life in Northern Ireland.
