THIS is 21-year-old Sea Cadet instructor, cleared of raping one young cadet, who is to be jailed for sexually abusing the teenager and another cadet.

Scott McCutcheon from Roslyn Street, Belfast, was cleared of the rape and buggery of the cadet on Wednesday, but convicted of a total of 13 charges of indecent assault and gross indecency involving two cadets between 2000 and 2003.

After being told the prosecution do not intend to re-try McCutcheon on the more serious sex assaults, Judge Kevin Finnegan at Belfast Crown Court yesterday remanded him into custody saying he faces a jail term, to be determined once pre-sentence reports are made available.
