EXPLORIS Aquarium in Portaferry is to host a series of events over the coming days to mark Seal Week.

Starting today and running until November 17, the seal sanctuary in the aquarium on the shores of Strangford Lough will be offering members of the public a chance to view seals up close in a healthy and safe environment.

An exhibition on the popular aquatic mammals will be on display during Seal Week, while visitors can also learn more about the rescue and rehabilitation of seals, as well as viewing them in their hospital pens at feeding time.

A series of informative talks will also be running over the week, with a host of special activities for children, ranging from seal art to badge making organised for both this and next weekend.

Exploris is open daily during Seal Week, with feeding time at 4pm each day.
