Published 25/03/2013

A 62-year-old man has suffered head injuries during an attack at his home in Lisburn.

The victim was hit on the head by an unknown man as he went to investigate banging at his front door in the Barley Hill area of Lisburn in the early hours of Sunday morning.

As a result he suffered a three-inch gash to his head.

His attacker then ran off towards Low Road. He is described as around 18-years-old, five foot tall with short dark hair and a fringe.

He was wearing a grey puffy jacket.

Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward and have said they would like to hear from anyone with information.
