There's nightly rock entertainment on offer at The Bunker venue, in Lavery's Bar, Belfast this week. The line-up is: Nectar (tonight); The Voodoo Dogs (Monday); Heroic Doses and Black Tax (Tuesday); Point Blank - Live Metal Night (Wednesday); Lotion, The Deaf Club and Underline (Thursday); Gigantic, Mojo Fury and Ed Zealous (Friday) and The Thrones Of Roll (Saturday).
With a collective band history including solid links with The Flying Burrito Brothers, The Band, Janis Joplin, Linda Ronstadt and Gram Parsons, come Ulster live visitors, Burrito Deluxe. The five-piece US country rock outfit, now with West Coast million seller, Walter Egan in its ranks, are at the Errigle Inn on Tuesday. Admission is a tenner.
One of Northern Ireland's finest contemporary singer/songwriters, Kieran Goss plays the Fiddlers' Green International Festival in Rostrevor on Tuesday. Tickets are available from the festival box office on 028 41739819.
Incendiary Ulster indie band, with the swaggering guitar-vocal excellence, Rivals are at Auntie Annie's, Belfast on Wednesday. Tickets (£4) are available from Katy Daly's. Support comes from Heyday and Patiosounds. Check out their blazing, yet melodically sussed debut single, Collide.
The transbelfast festival gets into its stride this week, with The Crimea, V Formation, Oppenheimer and Skibunny DJs at the Waterfront Studio on Wednesday (tickets, £3). Thursday sees a dance-themed night, featuring Spree, Japanese Popstars and a DJ set from Simon Sheldon at the same venue (£3). And Friday brings Grammy nominated hip-hop duo, Shlomo and Steinski (£7). Tickets are available from the Waterfront Hall box office, 028 90334455.
New British heavy rockers, Brigade are at Belfast's The Limelight on Thursday and Derry's The Nerve Centre on Saturday. Belfast tickets are £6, available from Katy Daly's. Derry tickets are a fiver, available online at www.wegottickets.com.
That's entertainment - in the company of Ulster's leading Jam tribute band, Jamm Pact - at Sandino's in Derry on Friday. Admission is a fiver.
Ausie rock legend, Jimmy Barnes is back in Belfast, promoting his current duets album, Double Happiness, with a gig at Spring & Airbrake on Friday. Tickets, £15 are available from usual outlets.
Picture this - a Blondie tribute band, publicly praised by Debbie Harry! Once More Into The Bleach are at Belfast's Empire Music Hall on Saturday. Admission is £8.50.
The Ulster-Scots family festival at the Rosemount Estate, Greyabbey provides a feast of FREE music, including performances by Willie Drennan and his Ulster-Scots Folk Orchestra; bluegrass/Appalachian outfit the Low Country Boys and much more. The festival runs from 10am until 6.30pm.
