'Angela's Ashes' now 'as Gaeilge'

The Pulitzer Prize-winning book, 'Angela's Ashes' has been translated into Irish.

The translation of the work by Frank McCourt, which depicts his childhood years in Limerick, was launched last night.

'Luaithreach Angela' is a limited edition which was commissioned by The Limerick Writers' Centre from writer and translator Padraic Breathnach.

'Angela's Ashes' had previously been translated into 30 other languages.

Project editor Dominic Taylor said the Irish translation was a tribute to the author's roots.
