It's a bit rich adding yet another golf course ...

"dear Eddie," writes Gladys Magill from Portstewart, "I'm sad that a golf course is to be built so close to the Giant's Causeway on beautiful landscape that walkers like me love to dander on daily. I hope the National Trust manage to stop this devastation of the shoreline.

"Surely the area has enough golf links? Especially as only 10% of the people here can afford to play the game."

I'm inclined to agree with Gladys. But I speak as a non golfer. I was never able to master the game.

And even if I was a player, I couldn't afford to join a club.
