I've just discovered that the Belfast district made up of Smithfield, King Street, Castle Street, Bank Street and Berry Street is now called Folktown for some curious reason.

It includes the old Smithfield Market where I used to browse on wet afternoons, picking up second-hand books and vinyl records.

Now Joby Fox, director of Folktown Community Interest Company, has launched a What's-My-Story project in which former residents and shopkeepers are being asked to relive the past with their memories.

"I want to collect old stories about the district before they are lost forever," says Joby.
