20th Belfast Fashionweek gets underway

Published 15/10/2015

The 20th West Coast Cooler Belfast Fashionweek got underway on Thursday night.

Cathy Martin, director of the event - which runs until Sunday - was busy at the Bruce Street venue this afternoon making last minute preparations.

"The vacuum cleaners are going, the hairdryers are going, the make-up is being applied and the models are all being fitted into their looks - and I think there is something like around 250 looks on the catwalk at our 8pm show tonight alone.

"We also have a fantastic menswear show kicking proceedings off at 6pm - which also features a lingerie section.

"There's a lot going on between now and Sunday. Season 20 is one of our biggest schedules yet. It'll be a manic four days but hopefully we'll be putting the fun into fashion."

Earlier, there were photo-calls to support the main evening shows.
