Adam Driver's shorts aversion

Adam Driver wishes he had the right physique for shorts.

The 30-year-old actor is famed for playing Adam in Lena Dunham's hit show Girls. The character is a bit grungy, but in real life the star favours a more dapper look. Unfortunately his spouse Joanne Tucker has vetoed some of his style choices.

"I wish I could pull shorts off. My wife tells me that I just can't. But that's OK. I'm tall, I can do other things, like change light bulbs," he told British magazine Time Out London.

Luckily for Adam he got to flash his legs in his movie Tracks, in which he portrays photographer Rick Smolan. He is known for wearing shorts much of the time, with the actor only too happy to use the item to get into character.

"The director was nervous about whipping them out in the costume fitting. But I was like, 'Where are the shorts?' In all the pictures I saw of Rick he was wearing those shorts. I kept them," he laughed.

Adam has always been happy with his appearance, previously saying he doesn't spend much time obsessing about his look. He's content to be different and would hate to blend into the crowd too much.

“I look the way I look. As you get older, you don’t care that much. I am who I am,” the former US marine told British magazine Stylist. “I know I look odd. I never think I look cool!”

“The military had something to do with that [not caring so much about looks], because you get torn down so much, you grow thick skin."
