Adam Levine accepts that not everyone will like his new hair.

The 35-year-old singer showed off his platinum style during Monday night's episode of The Voice US, on which he is a judge, and unveiled the look on Twitter on Saturday.

While many have openly disapproved of Adam's tresses he insists his other half, model Behati Prinsloo, is a fan. The couple got engaged in July last year.

“Behati loves it,” he smiled to Access Hollywood Live. “Most people aren’t gonna like it, but I’m OK with that.”

Adam admits there was no preparation behind dying his dark hair and he simply wanted to experiment with a new shade.

“I literally woke up and said I want to try something different,” he added. “I’d never done it before.”

The handsome star may like his bold look, but it probably won't be around for that long. He admitted he's “probably gonna have to get rid of this before [the wedding] happens”.

However, he is happy to embrace it and make the most of his unique appearance. His chiselled looks have earned him several awards over the years, such as People magazine's Sexiest Man Alive in November last year.

“I love my hair,” he explained after his stint on The Voice on Monday. “It’s not gonna be this way forever – trust me. I’m gonna have to change it back for something or other. I’m enjoying it.”

Adam's friend and fellow judge on the show Blake Shelton wasted no time in making jokes about his hair. After host Carson Daly quizzed Adam on his makeover, Blake mused: “Wait, that’s Adam?! I thought Meg Ryan was sitting with us tonight."
