Alba 'crazy' to criticise body

Jessica Alba was insecure about her figure when she was younger.

Despite being seen as a Hollywood sex symbol, Jessica wasn't always happy to show off her toned physique. She also admits she held this negative view of herself even before she had her two daughters.

"I was a lot more critical of my body when it was probably pretty awesome. It's like, why did I not ever wear jean shorts? That's so crazy," she revealed to the latest issue of Health magazine. "I was so skinny! I didn't have any cellulite... What was I thinking?! I was more willing to wear short skirts after I had my kids. I never wore them before. Ever."

The 32-year-old star has since realised image isn't as important as she thought. She feels more positive with her figure now due to not worrying about what other people think.

"I was so self-conscious... Now I'm a lot more confident in my skin - because who cares? At the end of the day, it's so much time spent on something that really doesn't matter that much," she insisted.

While she feels happier with her body now Jessica previously stated she would never sport "booty shorts" again after wearing them in the 2003 film Honey. She played a music video choreographer in the film and often rocked crop tops and shorts.

"I probably won't ever wear booty shorts. I feel pretty confident about that," she laughed during an interview earlier this year.
