Jessica Alba has revealed her toned physique stems from the training she did while filming TV show Dark Angel.

The 34-year-old actress is mother to six-year-old Honor and three-year-old Haven with husband Cash Warren.

And speaking about the secrets behind her toned physique in an interview with Shape magazine, Jessica admitted that having children gave her a new perspective about her appearance.

“I wasn’t truly confident about my body until I had my daughters, Honor and Haven,” she said. “I felt more comfortable in my own skin after they were born. Plus, if I want them to be happy with their bodies, I need to walk the walk.”

While Jessica has appeared in big budget blockbusters including The Fantastic Four and Sin City, she originally made her name in TV show Dark Angel which ran from 2000 to 2002.

And she says that training for the programme, which was created by James Cameron, helped forge an exercise regime that she follows to this day.

“I attribute my athletic body to the martial arts, gymnastics, dance, and strength training I did while filming Dark Angel,” she said. “That’s made me strong and really set the bar.”

As well as her acting career, Jessica is a successful entrepreneur, having set up her business The Honest Company in 2011.

With an incredible busy schedule, Jessica admits that it can sometimes be tough to stick to a healthy diet.

But she has one snack that she always turns to in times of cravings.

“I’m addicted to popcorn,” she said. “I eat it throughout the day. I’m a scatterbrain with lots of things to do at once, and eating popcorn helps me concentrate. It’s my way of dealing with my mind wandering off.”
