Jessica Alba thinks men are “lucky” because they don’t take long to get ready.

The 34-year-old actress wowed in a stunning Kenzo gown as she attended the 2015 Met Gala in New York on Monday night.

But Jessica has revealed just how much work went into preparing for the evening by chronicling her beauty diary for Vogue.com.

Everything was planned for the big night out, which featured a theme of China: Through the Looking Glass.

And Jessica told the outlet she considered everything from her dress and shoes down to the details on her manicure.

“We picked up [on] the palette of my dress with accents of Chanel Coquelicot—which looks like a traditional Chinese red lacquer—and silver foil on my pinky and ring fingers,” Jessica said. “Details are everything!”

Mother-of-two Jessica rarely puts a foot wrong when it comes to her fashion choices. However, she admits that the lengthy preparations can sometimes take their toll.

“Men are lucky—they’re basically done before I’ve even finished my make up!” she admitted.

Jessica recently swapped her long locks for a choppy bob as the summer approaches. And the star told Vogue she’s thrilled the new cut has given her red carpet looks a new aspect.

“My new haircut really helps shape an effortless evening look,” she continued. “A little texture and teasing go a long way.”

On the make up front, Jessica kept her base simple to allow her stunningly natural complexion to shine through. But she went for something a bit different along with make up artist Daniel Martin, who opted for a classic look with a twist.

“Tonight’s makeup is all about the eyes,” Jessica said. “We had fun interpreting Kenzo’s fall 2015 runway look with bright white liner for an unexpected pop.”
