Alber Elbaz teaches about fashion
Alber Elbaz has hosted a special Lanvin fashion presentation to show how clothes are made.
The creative director of the fashion house put on the event in Paris last night. He invited a group of women to the show, among them Catherine Deneuve.
The designer seated all the guests in the front row and then showed them a number of outfits from Lanvin's recent Fall/Winter, Spring/Summer and pre-Spring collections.
"I think it's important not only to produce fashion, but to also understand and explain it," he told WWD. "I want to bring back all the stories of our métier and our know-how."
The selected women travelled from all over the world to be present. There were people from America, Brazil, Monaco, Italy and the UK present, for what Alber called his "women's club".
As the outfits came down the catwalk Alber discussed how he came up with the designs, and then the way in which they were made.
"Fashion isn't a monologue. It's also a dialogue," he explained.
The next intimate show will be staged in Los Angeles on November 3.
