Alec Baldwin's wife suffered a wardrobe crisis prior to the Emmys on Sunday night.

Hilaria Thomas, who wed the 30 Rock star at the end of June this year, managed to put on a perfectly co-ordinated display with her husband at the ceremony. However, their carefully planned matching purple outfits almost didn't come off. It has been reported that a package delivery service failed to get Hilaria's gown to her on time. This sparked a frantic search and rescue mission to track down the Amsale frock before the ceremony.

The New York Post reports that yoga instructor Hilaria's deep purple dress with silk organza petals and black diamond crystals was supposed to arrive on Friday. The dress matched 54 year-old Alec's black suit and purple tie ensemble.

When the gown hadn't got to her by Saturday the couple spent the day hunting down the dress whereabouts, resulting in a road trip 40 minutes to locate the missing parcel.

"When she got the dress, Hilaria gave the UPS woman a hug, and asked everybody to give her a round of applause for helping her," a friend revealed to the New York Post.

Although Alec failed to win his Emmy Award nomination for best actor in a comedy series, he looked like a winner on the red carpet with his arm around his prize wife.

Hilaria stunned in her floor length sweetheart cut gown that she teamed with a gold Chanel clutch and matching heels.
