Alexa Chung: Experiment with style

Alexa Chung always makes sure her clothes stand up to the British weather.

The brunette beauty is a style icon in her own right and turns heads with her striking taste in clothes. She didn't figure out what best suits her shape overnight and encourages others to feel comfortable in their own skin, insisting nothing bad can come from experimenting.

"It took me a while to figure out what suited me. I look weird in flares and wide-legged trousers, and I wish I didn't," she sighed to the British edition of Elle magazine. "Most of my wardrobe is based around my skinny legs. I can't remember any fashion regrets of mine, because what's the worst that can happen? You get changed, and then it's OK."

It isn't just her pins Alexa focuses on when choosing items. Hailing from the UK the 31-year-old star makes sure every outfit she puts on can stand up to the conditions outside.

"My wardrobe has an onus on practicality and being responsive to weather. My trademarks are fairly British: there's always a sensible jacket, and a jumper you could have borrowed from your mum or dad," she smiled. "The things I buy and buy are wool Sunspel jumpers. Plus Prada cat-eye sunglasses, black polo necks, overalls and coats. I also love a suit. I'd like to find a tailor and get things made."

One thing that is extremely important to Alexa is dressing according to her mood. However she admits it can sometimes be tricky to achieve this aim as she often lives out of a suitcase, relying on whatever she has packed to look her best.
