Alexa Chung has joked that her newly dyed hair is "the talk of the town".

The style icon recently switched up her style by dyeing her hair from ombre to a glossy brown colour.

The model-and-presenter's stunning new image comes at the same time as her recent appointment as the new face of L'Oréal Professionnel INOA hair colour.

"Everyone loves it, it's the talk of the town," she laughed to British magazine Look.

"I wanted a change - I just got tired of that look. Once I got more of a defined fringe put in I thought there were too many layers. It's OK if you're rocking a beachy look, but if you're going for straight hair it looks a bit odd. So I've chosen a richer brown and I like it."

Alexa has access to the best grooming products available. The British beauty shared which hair item she can't live without.

"Dry shampoo. I love L'Oréal's Fairy Dust - no, wait it's Fresh Dust! Sorry I've gone a bit mad," the busy star joked.

Alexa is looking forward to wearing her warmer weather wardrobe. She advised that appropriate undergarments are crucial when flaunting a hot summer look.

"Spring and summer are good because you can experiment with colour and print. And Orla Kiely do really cute summer dresses," she gushed. "But always make sure you have really nice underwear on, because in spring if you're wearing a short skirt and there's wind, an absolute nightmare can happen."
