Alexa Chung talks dream denim range
Alexa Chung relished the chance to learn about designing denim while working with AG Adriano Goldschmied.
The fashionista is joining forces with denim brand AG Adriano Goldschmied to create 20 pieces. The Alexa Chung for AG line will include dungarees, jeans and denim dresses, and the 30-year-old couldn’t be more excited.
“The collection is inherently the missing pieces of my dream denim wardrobe, which, as ever, is predominantly inspired by a late Sixties, early Seventies aesthetic,” she told WWD.
While the range doesn’t reach the stores until January 2015, Alexa has revealed some of her sketches. They include ‘skater girl shorts’, ‘NYC fashion jean’ and ‘Vivienne punk jean’. As for colours, Alexa will be using the classic Wrangler and Lee blue shades.
“[But there’ll also be] palest pink, cream, rusty red [and] washed army green,” she added.
Alexa has spoken in the past about how much she wanted to design her own clothes. So when the opportunity arose with AG, she took her input very seriously. She even visited their 400,000 sq foot factory to get a better understanding of the production process.
“I found the trip incredibly inspiring and an opportunity to learn about denim and make things I had been dreaming about finding,” she said.
As well as her denim range, Alexa has also collaborated with Nails Inc. recently. Alongside creating a six-shade collection of colours, the brunette will also be the new face of the brand.
She shared the news on her social media accounts, tweeting one of the campaign shots. It shows her lying on a floor covered in kale, holding an oversized bottle of the new nail varnish.
Her eyes are heavily rimmed with black kohl, and she gazes into the camera as she holds on to the bottle.
"This is a thing," she joked in the caption."That's a normal size bottle. I'm just really small...."
