Alicia Keys makes time during the day to "drop down" and do crunches.
The singer's shape has fluctuated over the years, but friends say she has finally found her happy weight.
However, the 32-year-old reportedly works hard to keep her body in top condition.
"Alicia does an hour of cardio five days a week - usually running or dancing, and free weights," a friend told Britain's Heat magazine. "She also takes 'body breaks' where she drops down for 50 crunches and 50 push-ups throughout her day - and she does another 50 before she gets in the shower."
Alicia famously followed the protein-heavy 5 Factor Diet after giving birth to son Egypt two years ago, and says she only eats junk food on the weekends. According to friends, she began working out with Kelly Rowland's trainer Jeanette Jenkins before her recent Superbowl performance.
"It started when she performed at the Superbowl in March - she didn't want to look big next to Beyoncé," the friend said.
Alicia reportedly rises at 5.30am to fit in her workouts. But even the star herself admits she doesn't always make it out of bed.
"I'm laying in bed for a good 15 to 20 minutes and I'm just trying to convince myself I can do it," she said. "Some days I fail and go back to sleep."
