Amy Adams says the strapless Marchesa gown she sported earlier this year is her perfect red carpet dress.
The actress appears as the cover star for Allure magazine's July issue where she shared the story behind some of her most iconic looks.
Amy named the strapless fishtailed dress she sported to this year's ceremony in Beverly Hills as one of her all-time favourites.
"Isn't this amazing? It's Marchesa," Amy gushed. "It had some stretch...I could move. But because the tail was so dramatic, it was kind of hard to get close to me - it's like the ideal dress!"
Amy named another of her stand out looks from this year as one of her best.
At the Academy Awards in February the red-haired actress wowed in a light grey strapless gown that contained layers of frill material across the train.
"I wanted to feel like I was walking in a cloud. And that's what it felt like," she described. "And I figured I should wear this [Oscar de la Renta dress] while I can, because at a certain point in my life, it will no longer be dignified to wear a princess gown to the Oscars."
Red carpet events haven't always been so glamorous for Amy.
She joked about her appearance at the 1999 premiere for movie Drop Dead Gorgeous at the start of her Hollywood career.
"I did my own hair and make-up and bought that dress for like $400 - the most money I'd ever spent on a single thing in my life. The shoes I think I got at Skechers," she joked. "They had Velcro on them. I was so uncomfortable on the red carpet. And notice the smile. It's the only way I knew how to smile back then. It was like, 'I know, I'll just do it like a cheerleader, that'll work.'"
