Anna Kendrick thinks Cate Blanchett's 2011 Oscars gown is the "coolest dress" she's ever seen.

The 29-year-old actress may not be pregnant or have any kids, but owns a pair of trousers meant for mothers-to-be. And they've become one of her favourite things to wear during her down time.

"I was given a pair of maternity pants on the set of [upcoming movie] The Hollars that we didn't end up using. They're amazing, so comfortable," she gushed to ASOS magazine.

Her favourite outfit of choice is a soft cashmere J.Crew sweater worn with jeans and Converse, a simple yet stylish and comfortable ensemble.

On the topic of red carpet style icons Anna named Cate Blanchett as someone whose taste in gowns she admires. The brunette beauty is particularly fond of the Givenchy Couture dress the screen icon wore to the Oscars in 2011.

"It was the coolest dress I'd ever seen," Anna smiled of the piece, which was a pale pink shade and featured beading in the same colour and yellow embellishment.

Fashion isn't the only area the star is interested in - she also likes to take care of her complexion. Anna happily shared the best product in her make-up bag.

"Koh Gen Do Cleansing Spa Water Cloths," she said. "They're the only face wipes I've used that don't leave you with a sticky face. They're pricey but worth it."

To maintain her fair skintone Anna tries not to spend too much time in the sun, previously joking she's "allergic" to it. While she enjoys a good hike in Los Angeles she finds it takes a lot of preparation to get ready for it, covering up in a long-sleeved top, sunscreen, a big hat and glasses.
