Anna Paquin praises royal wedding gown
Anna Paquin says the Duchess of Cambridge's wedding gown was a "whole new take" on the word 'royal'.
Catherine Middleton wore a stunning Sarah Burton gown when she married Britain's Prince William in April of this year. The 29-year-old wowed in the beautiful satin and lace gown with a nine foot train.
Anna is a fan of the British fashion designer who is currently creative director of Alexander McQueen. The blonde beauty says the Duchess' wedding dress was a gorgeous creation.
"Are you kidding? It was gorgeous. Just gorgeous. I mean, it's a whole new take on 'royal,''" she gushed when asked what she thought of Catherine's dress.
Anna says Sarah is just as impressive in person. The True Blood star believes the designer is taking the luxury fashion brand in a great direction following the death of Alexander - real name Lee.
"I always loved Alexander McQueen. I love what Sarah Burton is doing with the house now. I wore one of her dresses to the Emmys, shortly after he passed away, and then I got to meet her in London and she showed me around the showroom," she told Stylist magazine. "It was amazing."
Anna never met the controversial designer before his tragic death in February 2010, but she says his legend certainly lives on.
The actress thinks Sarah is doing an amazing job in taking over the popular fashion house.
"Sadly, no [I didn't meet him.] But I wore a lot of his clothes and I've always been a big fan. His legacy is very edgy, but very intricately feminine, which is a combination not many people can pull off," she explained.
"I feel like Sarah's continued on with that. I got to see some of the stuff that was in the middle of being prepared for the next show. It's like getting to see behind the curtain. There were these intricate shoes being cast out of plaster. It was unbelievable."
