Ashley Benson's make-up artist ignores rules

Ashley Benson

Pretty Little Liars' make-up artist prefers to think outside the box when styling the cast.

The blonde actress stars as Hanna Marin in popular HBO series Pretty Little Liars, which follows the lives of four high school students trying to find out who killed their friend.

Lucy Hale, Shay Mitchell and Troian Bellisario also have lead roles in the show, with all girls rocking glamorous looks on screen.

Cindy Miguens is responsible for their flawless looks and prefers to follow her own rules with cosmetics.

"Sometimes the work schedule doesn’t allow for lots of changes. If we’re doing party scenes and one school scene that day, we just stick with the party look, depending on time we have to change the girls over," she explained to Beauty High.

"Usually we don’t have much time! I don’t follow the rules with make-up. I believe make-up is about personality, not so much the rules of daytime or nighttime. It’s how it makes you feel!"

A stand-out part of the girls' looks is their fabulously full lashes.

Cindy let fans in on how they can recreate the look at home.

"I curl the lashes first, usually with Shu Uemura Curler, I like applying mascara with a fan brush, because I can get into the base of the lash, and I can apply on the top and bottom lashes, and I layer several coats of mascara!" she revealed.

Cindy also revealed that she goes through two tubes of mascara per actress every season and that it takes about 30-45 minutes to get them screen ready.
