Ashley Madekwe has gushed about her favourite trends for fall.

The London-born Revenge actress is a pro at whipping together chic on-trend ensembles, and has her own style blog to show off her accomplishments.

The 31-year-old shared her fall must-haves as part of a closet takeover with fashion website WhoWhatWear.

"I am definitely feeling the Marc by Marc Jacobs grunge aspect for fall," Ashley told WhoWhatWear. "I would wear this [plaid sweatshirt] with a really dark maroon lip, some ripped jeans, and Dr. Martens."

Ashley showed how she'd style different kinds of denim jeans. She pointed out a pair of red stiletto ankle boots as being perfect for balancing slouchy cuts.

"I like to dress my boyfriend jeans up with heels," she continued. "These booties have a Blondie vibe to them - very rock 'n' roll"

The actress will often add embellishment in the form of a statement necklace to jazz up plain items. Ashley will look for items that appear simple but have special detailing included on the design.

"One of my favourite things are basics with details that makes them luxurious," she continued.

“A sweatshirt with leather sleeves is all me. This would be a great everyday piece with skinny jeans, flats, or sneakers. You could definitely wear this in the evening as well. Stripes are also a great basic for pulling an outfit together and are great with a red lip - very French.”

Ashley won't settle for any old denim jacket. She picked out a studded Versus Jean Jacket as her favourite for fall, explaining why this suits her style.

“Again, it’s a basic with something special,” she said. "I love the embellishment and that it has that old-school ‘90s vibe. I love wearing really ornate embellished pieces with more dressed-down items.”
