Ashley Madekwe’s thrifty fitness
Ashley Madekwe is big on exercise but barely drinks any water.
The svelte British actress is a big name across the pond thanks to her roles in TV shows Revenge and Salem.
She knows how important it is to stay in shape, but monetary losses are the real reason she always makes it to the gym.
“If I’m home in LA, I aim to do Pilates or Bikram yoga three times a week. They’re always a challenge, but cancellation fees are the incentive I need to make me go to class,” Ashley smiled to the British edition of Women’s Health magazine.
For the publication Ashley wrote a one week food diary, noting down everything that passed her lips.
The 33-year-old enjoys a healthy diet full of fresh fruit, fish and protein. However, she’s not much of a cook.
“I’m not someone who loves to be in the kitchen, but if I have five minutes to make something, I‘ll just throw eggs and vegetables in a pan – whatever I have in the fridge,” she divulged.
As well as a nutritious diet, Ashley also enjoys the odd snack and doesn’t deny herself cookies when the mood takes.
Even though she now lives in the US, the actress can’t resist a cup of English breakfast tea and has at least two a day. This makes up for the lack of other liquids she consumes.
“My husband calls me ‘the lizard’ as I only drink a litre of water a day - sometimes less than that. I just forget, but vegetables juice and tea help me stay hydrated,” she said.
