Make-up artist Sir John ensures Beyoncé Knowles' lips are "perfect" during her On The Run Tour.

The 32-year-old singer is currently in the midst of her On The Run Tour with her husband Jay Z, and the couple are set to perform at Houston's Minute Maid Park this evening.

Beauty expert Sir John is in charge of keeping Beyoncé looking her best on stage and has particular methods to keep the songstress' complexion shine free.

“When Beyoncé does a quick change, it’s like the Daytona 500, when the cars come in and they have to hurry up and change the wheels in, like, 20 seconds. When she comes back, everyone is grabbing a piece of her. I’m rebuilding - powdering, reapplying a lip; the eyes are always OK," he explained to style.com.

"We just want to make sure that when she runs out that she’s not [shiny] in the T-zone, that she’s glowy everywhere else, and that her lip is perfect."

Sir John also keeps a beady eye on his client when she is strutting her stuff in front of the audience to ensure he knows what move to make next. So far she has rocked looks including a cat-eye, and gorgeous shimmery golden eyeshadow.

"I’m watching the monitor from the start of the show to the end to make sure everything is impeccable, and I have razor-sharp focus to make sure nothing is messed up," Sir John added.

The cosmetics professional has his work cut out with the tour, with Beyoncé and Jay Z singing around 40 songs per show.

They will be performing in America until August 6 in San Francisco, before moving to Paris with two dates to close up the epic music excursion.
