Brad Pitt has allegedly been sporting men's shapewear undergarments to "minimise the bad and accent the good".

The Hollywood actor is rumoured to sport the infamous shapewear to control his midsection.

The 49-year-old apparently uses the undergarments to suck in his stomach when he steps out onto the red carpet.

“They minimise the bad and accent the good,” an insider revealed to US Star magazine. “He’s close to 50 and is showing his age.”

According to the publication, Brad is grateful to have the girdle-like garments on hand.

This is the latest rumour surrounding the heartthrob's changing appearance.

In December Brad was subject to claims he used hair extensions to combat thinning as he ages.

“Just months after getting mocked for his unintentionally hilarious Chanel No. 5 perfume ad, the A-list actor - who already gets blonde highlights and weekly pedicures - has debuted a new set of hair extensions that had people whispering behind his back,” a source told Star after a film premiere.

Brad spoke about getting older in 2011 and insisted he was fine with the process.

The star was promoting his movie Moneyball in South Korea where he said fatherhood was the reason for his new perspective.

“Me personally, I like ageing. With age comes wisdom... I’ll take wisdom over youth any day,” Brad insisted.

“I think, certainly, being a father changed everything for me.”
