Bridal beauty secrets from the experts

It’s finally here! The Wedding Journal Show returns to Belfast this weekend and The King’s Hall will undoubtedly be filled to the rafters this Friday, Saturday and Sunday with brides-to-be looking for everything they need for their big day.

Every bride wants to look her best for her wedding and it’s a time when we tend to go that extra mile and really up our beauty game. The Belfast Telegraph Style Stage, hosted by Pamela Ballantine, will feature makeovers, bridal beauty and fashion all weekend at the show, giving guests invaluable advice on becoming a beautiful bride. We spoke to some of the experts to get their top tips.

Think Skin Love Skin ( www.thinkskinloveskin.com)

Annette Burns Young will present her ‘Bride’s Guide to Glowing Radiance’ on the Style Stage on Sunday. Think Skin Love Skin is an online organic beauty boutique based here in Northern Ireland. They have literally crossed the globe to source the very best products and carry skincare from Californian brands, Dr Alkaitis and Suki and UK brands Pai, Ila and Spiezia Organics alongside haircare ranges from US celebrity hairdresser John Masters and leading UK Colourist Louise Galvin.

Annette had this to say about bridal beauty: “For her wedding, a bride wants her skin to be at its very best. She wants to be naturally radiant and that’s why we are delighted to be involved with the Wedding Journal Show. Many of our ranges have been chosen because they have such high performing, problem solving properties. We decided to specialize in natural and organic skincare only, as after extensive testing and research, we found that these products were best for skin conditions such as rosacea and acne, but also enlarged pores, redness and dullness.” The key products Annette recommends for brides to be are;

Ila Face Oil for Glowing Radiance, £56 from Thinkskinloveskin.com

This award winning face oil is a ‘Bazaar Beauty Hot 100’ for 2012 and will give you a radiant complexion. Damascena rose otto is hand-picked in the Indian Himalayas and hand blended with sandalwood, wild-grown argan oil, rosehip and vitamin E. Use under your make up for the perfect dewy complexion.

Dr Alkaitis Organic Nourishing Treatment Oil, £69.50 from Thinkskinloveskin.com

This woody mix of wild herbs includes white Egyptian lotus, sea buckthorn, Indian ginger and white sandalwood and is a treat for the skin and the senses. Perfect for your honeymoon, this oil can be used as a nourishing treatment for sun parched skin on your face and body. It’s perfect for “him & her” massages too.

Urban Decay at Debenhams ( www.debenhams.com)

Debenhams and Urban Decay take to The Belfast Telegraph Style Stage on Friday and Sunday to present this season’s colours. One of Urban Decay’s most famous products has long since been a hit with brides - the ‘Naked’ eyeshadow palette is a one-stop shop for beautiful eyes and the exciting news is, a sequel has just been launched!

Urban Decay NAKED 2 eyeshadow palette, £36 from Debenhams

A follow up from the world's best-selling palette of all time, the palette is filled with twelve pigment-rich, taupe and greige neutral eyeshadows, including five new shades. A multitude of bridal looks could be created from this magic palette, whatever your style.

Clarins ( www.clarins.com)

Wedding Journal Show regulars Clarins return to The Belfast Telegraph Style Stage this year to reveal beautiful skin and make up tips for the bride. Clarins’ fabulous range of quality make up is hugely popular with brides, for whom long lasting staying power is all-important. Amongst Clarins’ recommended wedding day products is their ‘Everlasting Foundation’ range.

Clarins Everlasting Foundation SPF15, £24

This foundation offers fifteen hours of impeccable coverage and long-lasting wear. Clarins exclusive ‘light-optimising complex’ instantly captures, diffuses and magnifies light. Fine lines and small imperfections are visibly minimised and the complexion appears even and radiant. Perfect for your wedding day.

The Beauty Company ( www.beautycompanybelfast.com)

Aileen Morgan from The Beauty Company will appear on the Style Stage on Friday evening with beauty tips aplenty from the Belfast salon. Her recommended treatment for brides-to-be is 3D Lashes.

3D Lashes, from £21.50 at The Beauty Company

3D lashes are state of the art, semi-permanent lash extensions that give longer, thicker, natural looking lashes that last for weeks and weeks. Made to be identical to natural lashes, you can create your desired look whether you want the most natural of effects or complete glamour. They feel and look just like your own lashes, are comfortable to wear (unlike some traditional false eyelashes) and are excellent for honeymoons, as they are fuss free.

The Wedding Journal Show takes place at The King’s Hall from 24th – 26th of February. Everything you could possibly need to plan your dream day can be found under one roof, with over 300 exhibitors and a fabulous new ‘wedding wonderland’ walk-through experience. Online sales are now closed, but tickets can be purchased at the door all weekend. Tickets cost £10 and buying one entitles you to enter the competition to win a dream wedding worth £25k! Just register at The Wedding Journal stand upstairs and cross your fingers!

Good luck!
