Caity Lotz proud of scary style

Caity Lotz

Caity Lotz is pleased she got to wear "cool outfits" while filming The Machine.

The actress may be an up-and-coming name in the industry, but she's already starred in TV shows Mad Men and Arrow.

In The Machine she has dual roles as Ava and the titular character, for which she dons white make-up and sports slicked-back hair.

"I prefer playing The Machine. Ava's great too, she's a very fiery and passionate chick, but with her I still feel like me. With The Machine it's like I have a mask on and I feel more free because it's so different to me," she explained to Total Film.

"Literally, I have so much make-up all over my body and it rubs off on everything. I also have to bleach my eyebrows! She looks pretty scary sometimes, but she wears some cool outfits."

Caity, 26, has won many fans over with her great looks and long blonde hair.

However, she's keen to be seen as more than just a pretty face.

She was pleased that 2012 horror movie The Pact gave her a chance to let her acting skills shine through.

"All the glamorous gowns! Kidding," she previously joked when asked what the best thing about working on the creepy film was.

"Once you see the movie, you'll get it. The best thing was not having to worry about the way I looked. It was all about the performance and realness. Sometimes people can put way too much emphasis on looking ‘hot’ which can be stressful and put you in your head."
