Calvin Klein to speak at fashion event
Calvin Klein is to speak at a Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) dinner next month.
The designer is normally reticent about speaking in public, but has been in the limelight recently. He took part in an interview in New York City for the new series of Fashion Icons with Fern Mallis earlier this month.
It's not been revealed whether he will be the main speaker at the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund dinner awards gala, which is being held on November 14.
It's not known how long the icon will talk for either, although it's thought he will offer some tips on how to make it in the industry. That would make sense, as the ten finalists for the Fashion Fund prize will be in attendance on the evening, which is when the winner will be announced.
The award was created to help those starting out in the industry, by offering them financial aid as well as mentoring.
The CFDA is an organisation of around 350 designers who aim to nurture US talent and ensure ethics are adhered to within the industry. Diane von Fürstenberg is the current president.
It has just been announced that Lazaro Hernandez, Marc Jacobs, and Jack McCollough have all joined the CFDA board.
