Cameron Diaz became a one-stop beauty tutor for her friend Gwyneth Paltrow.

Actress Cameron Diaz was shocked to discover close pal Gwyneth Paltrow didn't know how to blow dry her own hair.

The Gangs of New York star has shared plenty of tips on beauty, health and lifestyle in tomes The Body Book and new follow-up, The Longevity Book, but it seems even Oscar winner Gwyneth, 43, who has her own successful lifestyle website, Goop, has needed some advice from her pal Cameron.

"(Gwyneth) was like, ‘I never blew out my hair, like, I don’t know how to do my own hair and make-up,’ and I was like, ‘Girl, after all these years, you have to know how to do this, you know?'” she told Andy Cohen on his Sirius XM Radio Andy show. “So I showed her how to do a quick blowout on her own hair, and she was like, ‘That’s it?’ I was like, ‘That’s it’.

"She’s like, ‘I can do that!’ I was like, ‘Of course you can! It’s easy, because we have all these other jobs that we have to do that we leave that to other people, but it’s really not that difficult to do yourself.'”

The 40-year-old also opened up to the host about her views on ageing in Hollywood, insisting she doesn't put pressure on herself to look like she did at the start of her career.

"If I’m relying on everybody buying me as a 25-year-old, then I’m screwed,” she admitted. “I’m not going to keep trying to keep up with an image of my 25-year-old self. If I try to keep that up then I’m just making it painful for myself. It’s up to me as an actress, as a human, as a woman, to say that’s not acceptable for me anymore, and you can’t demand that of me."
